Power Quote

“We have learned that power is a positive force if it is used for positive purposes.” I chose this quote because it stood out to me. When I first read it I agreed with it, but the more I read it I started to disagree with it also. First off when I think, “Is power good or bad?” I think it is good, and I think a lot of people think that way. But also power can be negative and I believe that some have learned that some power is negative and not all positive. I think power has a lot to do with negative people. Like Hitler, he had a lot of power but he used it in a negative way. Another example is Gandhi; he had a lot of power with the people. He used his power in a way to convince and per sway how people looked at solving problems in a non-violent way. Even though he didn’t have “labeled” power, he still gained power by conveying ideas that affected the people. Gandhi used his power in a positive way. So overall, I agree and disagree with this quote, people learn that power is both positive and negative.
